Nambucca Heads High School Hosting the 2010 North Coast Athletics Championships

On Wednesday July 28th (Week 2 of Term 3) our school is organising the above carnival which will bring a very large number of visitors to our town, which will in turn promote our local businesses.
Some students travel by bus from Ballina and the Tweed River Zone to compete at the carnival and it is necessary to billet them overnight on Tuesday 27th July.
Billeting students can be a rewarding social experience for your students and if you think you can help out please see sports organiser, Mrs. Jan Greenwood for permission notes and more information.

Year 11 Textiles

Year 11 Textiles have recently finished their first practical projects for the year. This project took all the girls out of their respective comfort zones in that they had to be creative and innovative with fabric. The girls were given three themes to choose from for their inspiration : beach, outback or rainforest. Some of the techniques used were self made fabric, fabric scrunching and patchwork of various types, beading sequinning, applique and machine emboidery. The students are very pleased with the final results.
