Yr 12 Study Skills Day

“Now Is The Time” for Yr 12
Tuesday the 11th of May saw a Study Skills Day for Yr 12 at Nambucca Heads High School.
The importance of how to achieve positive results in the HSC was highlighted throughout the day. Principal, Mr. Humphries and various teachers spoke to the students giving them strategies they could implement to enable them in the best possible way.
Mr. Gerard spoke of the importance of positive changes to lifestyle and the need for organisation in study timetables which both can make for a positive result at the end of the year. “Marry your thoughts with action, do not just think about what you need to do, Do It!” Mr. Gerard said.
Mr. Humphries talked of the importance of study summaries with all subjects and becoming familiar with keywords, setting goals and using strategies to achieve them.
Mr. Humphries invited students to see him for assistance with their study timetables and encouraged them to use the Yr 12 Learning Space. He suggested they ask teachers for previous years’ HSC papers to observe how they have been structured and the type of questions being asked.
All Year 12 staff are available for questions and queries from students. Please ask them.
Year 12 Advisors, Mr. John McCollum and Mrs Kerry Dedman ask parents to become aware of their Yr 12 students current and impending workload, including their major works and Yr 12 Trials. “Students will be looking for support from home” Mr. McCollum said.
